IS YOUR BUSINESS CYBER ESSENTIALS CERTIFIED?
The threat of cybercrime is always prevalent, which is why the UK government has backed the Cyber Essentials scheme in order to reduce the number of businesses that are victims of cybercrime. Are you certified and does your business have the measures in place to keep you protected?
What is Cyber Essentials?
Cyber Essentials is a government-backed scheme that will help protect businesses against a whole range of the most common cyber-attacks. It provides businesses with guidelines on what they need to do to strengthen their IT security to an adequate level.
Do I need Cyber Essentials?
Being certified in the Cyber Essentials scheme is worth it, not only to ensure your systems and data are secure and protected from most cyber attacks, but also to highlight to your customers that their data will be kept safe.
It’s a great badge that you can add to your business’s website or email signature to showcase the measures you have in place.
What can I do to become certified?
Well to start with, you’ll need to carry out a self-assessment and see whether or not you have met the criteria to have become Cyber Essentials certified. But be aware that there is a £300 + VAT charge for you to access self-assessment.
If you would like to become Cyber Essentials Plus certified, a hands-on technical verification will need to take place and the price of the certification will be dependant on the size and complexity of your business’s network.
